Post School Pack
Some school leavers with a disability require more expensive equipment to make the transition to life in the community. These young people often have severe medical conditions that can involve vehicle modifications, special chairs, hoists, feeding equipment and much more. Sometimes it’s specially modified equipment or aides so they can participate in an activity we take for granted… cooking a meal, using a phone or computer, bathing or maybe just communicating.
You can choose some equipment packs that range from as little as $250 but may be as much as $2,000… or you can co-sponsor a more expensive item. You’ll receive a Certificate of Appreciation, a photo and regular updates on the progress of the person using your post-school pack…
It’s estimated that despite the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme in excess of 1 million Australians with a disability will receive no support whatsoever. Many young Special School leavers will fall into this category and we at Compass aim, with your help, to provide a safety net. The Part Scholarship can support a young person with a disability through a specially designed ‘Transition 2 Life’ programme over a 6 month period. If they require more help they can reapply at the conclusion of the programme.
You can choose the person you wish to support and will receive regular updates including video footage and personal letters of thanks. This will change a person’s life entirely by helping bridge the gap to their future…
