Wood working and pottery facility harnessing the trainees’ imagination.

Earth and Wood is a Compass enterprise based at our Caloundra centre comprising of Woodwork and Pottery. The Caloundra trainees under the guidance of Rob Glover “Woodwork” and Rose Rimmer “Pottery” have been making a delightful range of Quirky Wooden Birdhouses, and timber boxes to case the delightful Harvest Kitchen Products. Pottery vases, bowls of all sizes, oil burners, and tea light holders are just some of the products being made and decorated by our budding Potters.

Thanks to Nambour Rotary for a Pottery wheel and to the Gambling Community Benefit fund for the Kiln Caloundra trainees are now producing some fantastic pottery.

This enterprise, as with all Compass initiatives, strives to give our trainees the opportunity to learn new skills and be part of a real life work enterprise.

This will aid in time for the trainees  to transfer these skills learnt into their own lives and the wider community.

Our Pottery workshop is part of our Wabi Sabi Caloundra shop, so you can drop in and see our trainees working at the same time.

These products are also available from Wabi Sabi Palmwoods.
