We currently have a once in a generation opportunity to fix school funding, but we must all get involved if we are to prevent this chance to finally secure needs-based funding slipping away.
The Queensland Teachers Union, in collaboration with the AEU, has launched a new campaign calling for the urgent implementation of the recommendations of the Gonski Review.
The I give a Gonski campaign aims to bring together the biggest group of parents and teachers ever to show the politicians in Canberra it is time for action. Please get involved. Remember, Gonski would mean an average of $1,500 extra per state school student per year.
Please take a moment to visit the campaign website and register your support for better funding. You can also join the facebook page to keep in touch with the latest news.
The first campaign TV advertisement started playing this week and you can watch it here or on facebook.
If you would like to know more about the Gonski Review and why it is so important, visit the new website. There are also fact sheets and flyers and posters available on the resources page of the website.
